A Rainy Evening - Basket of Fries

A very common food that every one loves. Good thing that my sister brought me here! French fries are best paired with hamburgers, especially in fast food chains. In almost every restaurant I go to, I usually get fries as my side order, but is quite heavy when paired with rice. I recommend Chubby's Rib Shack's basket of fries since they are thick and crispy outside and soft in the inside, the things that  I usually consider when ordering one. Be sure to have your Heinz Tomato Ketchup and Mayo ready!

After Office Bonding - Mango Tart

I often crave for the cakes from Conti's nowadays, good thing that they already have a branch in West gate Alabang which is more accessible from our office. It was twenty minutes past twelve when we got to Conti's. We ordered one slice of Mango Bravo and one slice of Mango Tart for dessert. Both are delicious and have their own unique presentations and taste. The cake has ripe mangoes with cream and fresh mango chunks on butter crust. I could easily consume one serving of this and still wanting for more. We were 20 minutes late, but it doesn't matter.

After Office Bonding - Mango Bravo

After a very tiring day, we planned to go the mall to have dinner. Once in a while, we always make sure to relax and have a break and set aside office works. After a heavy meal, I usually look for a dessert that would make my day. One of the desserts I recommend is the Mango Bravo of Conti's. The serving is quite big enough for one to consume. In my case, I can eat two, or maybe three slices of this cake. Mango Bravo is definitely a perfect dessert for all occasions. The taste is a perfect combination of meringue with cashew nuts, fresh mangoes and chocolate mousse all over.

Mango Bravo: Php 145 (slice)

Pig Out Day - Tuyo Salad

I am not a fan of salads, but after tasting the Tuyo Salad of Mamou, I instantly became a fan of it. It is my first time to encounter this kind of salad., but it tastes good actually. It is very rare that a restaurant would serve and perfect this kind of dish. I thought this salad may be very salty because of the Tuyo as it's main ingredient, my mistake! The mixture of tomatoes, onions, coriander leaves and chopped dried fish together with vinaigrette sauce gives a very balanced taste of fish.

Tuyo Salad: Php 155

Pig Out Day - Lorrenzo's Truffle Cream

We walked around while the kids played on the grass. We just stayed and killed time on the park while waiting for the sunset. One hour to go and it's dinner time! I just can't wait to try and explore new dishes. We came across Mamou restaurant and it caught our attention. The foods are quite pricey but all worth it. The restaurant serves a variety of foods such as salads, pastas, sandwiches and steaks. I've heard that steaks are their specialty, but I haven't tried one though.

One dish that we ordered was Lorenzo's Truffle Cream (Spaghettini truffle flavored cream, with Grana Pandano cheese). The pasta, although it might look plain, is my favorite. It may not have some meat or veggies on it, but still has the creamy taste of a more improved Carbonara.

Lorenzo's Truffle Cream: Php 335

Dining at Mana-Ish - Beef Biryani

Dining at Mana-Ish was a great experience. It was actually my first time to hear Mana-Ish, and after seeing what's on their menu, I fell in love all of a sudden. Whenever I get to eat in a Persian/Lebanese cuisine, It is a must for me to order the famous Biryani (layered rice cooked with biryani spices with choices of Lamb, fish, chicken of beef). I just wanted to try and compare the taste of this dish from different restaurants. For spicy food lovers, this could be the perfect meal for you. Looking at the picture, you'll know that it is indeed hot and spicy. With the tender juicy meat topped with red spicy sauce and a bulk of rice, no wonder this dish is very flavorful and satisfying. The meal is already heavy, and the price is just right. A must try!

Dining at Mana-Ish - Arayes

Another semi-heavy dish? The Arayes (fresh baked dough stuffed with baked Kebab with mozzarella cheese) has a similar taste with the Kebab Sandwich. Baked Kebab is wrapped in a soft baked white bread.  The best way to it this is to put some garlic and chili sauce in every bite and see how everything blends in your mouth. I personally enjoyed eating this dish because the taste of beef is well-balanced. It might look plain and boring to eat but once you have a bite on it, you will know that it is indeed an authentic Lebanese cuisine.

Arayes: Php 175
